These terms govern household-goods moving services provided by Wisconsin MOOvers (Erik Bauer, sole owner, doing business at 4221 Robertson Road, Suite C, Madison, WI 53714). They apply to every binding flat figure Erik counter-signs, to every long-haul move out of the Robertson Road yard, and to every heated indoor storage unit billed by Cassie. They are written in plain Wisconsin English and the Bauer family stands behind every clause below.
The binding flat is the binding flat
Once Erik counter-signs the figure Dustin wrote against your property, the figure is the figure. It does not move at the Madison curb on move day. It does not move at the destination unload. The only line that can change is if you add inventory at the curb or change the access constraints (a freight elevator that was supposed to be reserved is not, a flight of stairs that was supposed to be open is blocked). When that happens we write a curb addendum on the day, signed by you and by the crew chief, before the wrap starts.
What we are licensed to do and where
Intrastate Wisconsin household-goods moves under Wisconsin Public Service Commission. Interstate household-goods moves under our US DOT and MC authority. We do not move hazardous materials, live animals, plants across state lines, perishable food, firearms ammunition or cash. We move pianos, gun safes, antique heirloom pieces, and full residential households across Dane County, southern Wisconsin and the Midwest long-haul lanes.
The deposit and the cancellation window
$225 flat deposit secures the curb window on the August dispatch board or the January carry book. Refundable up to 72 hours before move day. Inside the 72-hour window the deposit is forfeit unless we agree to reschedule. If we cancel for our reason (truck failure on the Beltline, crew shortage), the deposit walks with the new date at no charge and we pay any documented out-of-pocket cost you incur to keep the lease window.
Cargo, claims and the nine-month window
Every shipment carries $1M cargo insurance. The released-value baseline is $0.60 per pound under federal household-goods carrier rules. Full-value protection is available on request and written into the binding flat before Erik counter-signs. You have nine months from the delivery date to file a claim under federal rules; Cassie processes claims off the Robertson Road desk. We answer in writing inside thirty days.
What the binding flat covers and does not
Covered: arrival, wrap and pad, load, drive (fuel and mileage on local and long-haul), unload, placement at the new curb, HOA COI filing, standard washer and dryer disconnect and re-hook, freight elevator scheduling. Not covered: gas-line disconnects (licensed plumber referral), hot tub electrical reconnect, Capitol Square loading-zone permit fees (Jenny pulls and you reimburse at cost), third-party crating beyond our wood-crate service.
Long-haul lanes
The same MOOvers W-2 crew that loaded at the Madison curb drives the rig and unloads at destination. We do not auction loads to van lines and we do not transfer at a truck stop. Delivery windows on the Madison-to-Milwaukee, Chicago, Green Bay, Iowa City and Eau Claire lanes run same-day or next-day; the Minneapolis lane runs two-day. Weather and road conditions on I-94 or I-90 can move the unload window; Tony calls you from the cab if it does.
Storage at the Robertson Road bay
Heated indoor storage runs $140 to $320 a month by unit size with daily-rate billing available. Billing cycles monthly from the date of inventory; auto-charges on file unless you instruct otherwise. Access to your unit is by appointment with Cassie during posted hours. Items in storage are covered under the same $1M cargo policy.
Disputes, jurisdiction and the Wisconsin PSC
State household-goods consumer-protection rules under the Wisconsin Public Service Commission govern intrastate work. Civil disputes are heard in Dane County circuit court. The federal Surface Transportation Board applies to the interstate haul portion of any long-haul move. Before any of that, call Erik at the Robertson Road desk — the Bauer family settles issues in person and in 24 hours.
