The MOOvers binding flat is written against the actual stairwell, doorway, lake-driveway grade and crawl-space access of your house. Dustin Holzhauer walks the property in person or by video walkthrough, lays out the inventory, marks the access constraints, prices the wrap and the pad and the freight elevator window, and Erik counter-signs the figure within twenty-four hours. The figure is the figure. It does not move at the curb. It does not move at the unload.
What the binding flat covers
For a local Madison move: arrival, drive, wrap and pad, freight elevator scheduling, COI to property management, load, drive on the Beltline, unload at destination, and an hour at the new curb for placement. $175 an hour with three movers and a 26-foot truck on the bumper; small studio and one-bedroom figures from $565. For long-haul: the same crew from Madison load to destination unload, fuel, cab pre-runs, frozen-ground anchor straps in winter, heated truck box for solid wood furniture, and the cargo insurance. Long-haul figures from $2,790.
What is not in the binding flat
Gas-line disconnects (referred to a licensed plumber). Permit fees if a Capitol Square loading zone permit is needed (Jenny pulls and you reimburse at cost). Hot tub electrical reconnect at destination. Anything you add to the inventory at the curb on move day — that gets a written addendum signed by both parties before the wrap starts. Standard washer-and-dryer disconnect is included on residential jobs.
How to give Dustin enough to write a real figure
The video walkthrough takes about twenty-five minutes. Walk the camera through every room slowly, open the closet doors and the basement, point at the heaviest piece in each room (the solid oak hutch, the upright piano, the gun safe, the great-grandmother dresser), and walk down the stairs and out the front door so Dustin can see the curb. For an in-home walkthrough, Dustin drives to your property; usually within forty-eight hours, sometimes the same day if Jenny has a slot.
What the deposit holds
$225 flat on every binding job. It locks the curb window on the August dispatch board (or the January carry book) and gets credited against the final figure. Refundable up to 72 hours before move day. If you reschedule, the deposit walks with the new date at no extra charge.
License and insurance, written into every figure
the Wisconsin PSC. our US DOT and MC authority. $1M cargo per shipment. $0.60 per pound released-value baseline. Federal nine-month claim window. Full-value protection on request, written into the binding flat before Erik counter-signs.
